Abstract

1324280 Pipe joints INDUSTRIELE ONDERNEMING WAVIN NV 22 Dec 1970 [23 Dec 1969] 60915/70 Heading F2G A branch fitting for joining a branch pipe to an existing pipe main includes a main portion 1 having at least one longitudinal seam 2, integral coupling members 8, 9 and ridges 3 which give the main portion 1 sufficient radial flexibility for the coupling members to engage. In Fig. 1 only one seam 2 is shown and the coupling members 8, 9 are in the form of two pairs of overlapping ear-shaped members. Alternatively, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), two seams are provided and the coupling members on either side of each seam extend the full length of the main portion. The coupling members when so extended may be tapered so that the parts of the main portion can axially slide one against the other to wedge each other. The branch pipe (not shown) fits into a sleeve 5 which in turn fits inside a collar 4 housing a ring (6), Fig. 3 (not shown), which also seals with both the sleeve 5 and the main pipe (7).
