Abstract

1315112 Diving helmets SIEBE GORMAN & CO Ltd 14 May 1970 [14 Feb 1969(2)] 8290/69 and 8291/69 Heading B7U [Also in Division F2] A diving helmet has a ring 32 and pressure pad 33 which are inflatable by the wearer to seal the ring against his face so isolating the rear part of the helmet, which is in communication with the interior of the suit, from a front section which is provided with an inlet 27 for the respiratory gas which can be different from the gas used to inflate the suit. Ring 32 and pad 33 are four-fifths filled with a liquid. The helmet also includes an ori-nasal mask 30 provided with inlet check valves 28, 29, and a valved outlet 31a 31b (31c) for exhaled gas. A vizor 12 has toggle clamps (16) connecting it to the sides of the helmet and arranged to draw strip 15 into sealing engagement with the front of the helmet. A clamping ring 23 interconnects flange 19 with a similar flange (21) on the neck of the suit.
