Abstract

1311658 Load handling slings IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 17 July 1970 [29 July 1969] 37942/69 Heading B8H An endless sling for use in lifting a load or securing a load to a pallet comprises at least one loop of a composite strand consisting of a core of substantially parallel filaments of synthetic material encased in a sheath of thermo - plastic material. The ends of the strand overlap and are made integral by thermal bonding of the sheath material. A number of endless loop slings may be joined together to form a composite sling, three examples of such slings being illustrated, Figs. 1-3 (not shown). Various examples of suitable materials for the core and sheath and methods by which the slings may be provided are described.
