Abstract

1463760 Sling J ELLIOTT and R YARR 12 June 1974 26358/74 Heading B8H [Also in Division D1] A haulage sling comprises a band of substantially eliptical cross-section formed by braiding nine wires 10 or other strands (see Division D1) and is provided with an eye at each end, the ends of the strands after forming the respective eyes being interwoven back into the band substantially to meet one another. The strands may be of natural or synthetic textile material, e.g. sisal, polypropylene instead of wire or if wire strands are used pairs of textile ropes 13A, 13B, 13C, 13D, 13E, 13F and 13G, 13H of larger diameter than the wires may be interwoven into the band and eyes to protect the wires.
