Abstract
1300719 Conduit couplings H B CHENEY 25 Feb 1970 [31 March 1969] 15964/72 Divided out of 1299271 Heading H2E [Also in Division F2] An electrical connector 14 for joining two electrical conduits 20 together comprises two sockets 12 each containing a sleeve 22 which has a plurality of resilient fingers 24 at one end. Locating projections 28 on each sleeve seat on a shoulder 30 on the respective socket and the other end of the sleeve is held by the edge of the socket being turned over. Each conduit 20 is retained by the fingers 24, which may be sharpened, and each conduit 20 seats on a shoulder 36 on the respective socket. The sleeve may be made of spring steel or stainless steel and may be cadmium coated to provide an anticorrosive electrically conductive coating. A triangular sealing ring may be included between the edge of the socket and the top of the sleeve. Each conduit may be formed with a recess to receive the fingers 24 and retain conduit 20 in the respective socket 12.
