Abstract

1352383 Two-part couplings BUNKER RAMO CORP 18 May 1971 [29 May 1970] 15613/71 Heading H2E A male or female connector comprises a conducting sleeve 8 having a resilient projecting arm 34 and a lug 42 which communicate respectively with slots 38 and 44 in an insulating connector body 4; the projecting arm 34 engages a shoulder 36 of a stop in a through passageway of the body, the sleeve thereby being held against both axial and rotational movement within the connector body. The sleeve is formed with two inwardly bowed contact arms (20, Fig. 3, not shown) and has a rearward extension forming a solder tag which has an inspection hole 18. A male connector (Fig. 2) is formed by inserting a cylindrical member into the sleeve as shown. A female connector (Fig. 1, not shown) has a solder stop snap inserted into the sleeve. To remove either a male or female connector contact from the body a specially shaped tool 40 may be inserted in the slots 38 to engage the projection 34 thereby permitting withdrawal of the sleeve rearwardly from the body.
