Abstract

902,447. Pipe connectors. HATHAWAY Ltd., L. Sept. 4, 1959 [Oet. 27, 1958], No. 34264/58. Class 99(1). A pipe connector includes a rigid sleeve 13 to engage over a pipe end 11, the sleeve being provided adjacent one end with coplanar, chordwise, through slots 15a, 15b to receive the limbs 16 of a substantially U-shaped resilient clip 17, the facing edges of which engage a peripheral groove 18 in the exterior of the pipe end 11. Arcuate recesses in the facing edges of the clip resiliently engage corresponding arcs at the bottom of the groove. A rubber 0-ring 20 seated in an annular channel 19 seals the pipe end 11 to the sleeve 13.
