Abstract

1399740 Fusing apparatus RANK XEROX Ltd 25 June 1973 [23 June 1972] 29643/72 Heading G2H Offset-preventing oil is pumped from a supply 171 to a wick 157 contacting a heated fuser roller 151. As shown, roller 151 comprises P.T.F.E. coated aluminium and contains a quartz element 152. A peristaltic pump 164 pumps silicone oil through tubes 165 to wick 157. A spring urged plate 158 presses the wick 157 against the roller 151. A second selectively operable pump and set of delivery tubes may be provided so that the width of roller 151 to which oil is supplied can be adjusted according to the width of copy paper being used.
