Abstract

1322033 Fixing toner images EASTMAN KODAK CO 24 Sept 1970 [26 Sept 1969] 45562/70 Heading G2H An apparatus for fusing toner images carried on a substrate 12 comprises an endless heat conductive web 13 mounted on rollers 14 and 15, roller 14 having a heating element 16. The image bearing substrate is maintained in contact with the web by a corona discharge device 19 and the substrate is separated from the web by a stripping member 21. The substrate 12 may contact the web at or on the downstream side of the heated roller. The web may be mounted on a third roller (not shown) which heats the web prior to contact with heated roller 14. Dispenser 22, 23 may apply a silicone oil to the web to prevent image offset. The fused image cools sufficiently to separate at stripping member 21 from the web.
