Abstract

1398130 Mineral-winning ploughs GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 28 July 1972 [29 July 1971] 35406/72 Heading E1F In a mineral-winning plough having main cutters 21 and floor cutters 24 adjustable independently of the main cutters and operative in both directions of movement of the plough, each floor cutter, which has a first cutting edge for engagement with the floor of a mine working and a second cutting edge perpendicular to the said first edge and intended for engagement with the face of the working, is mounted on a rotatable shaft 28 that is actuable from the goaf side of the plough and is so disposed at the face side of the plough that its axis of rotation intersects the first edge. Preferably the shafts 28 are each inclined downwardly in a direction outwardly of an associated end of the plough. The cutters are located on carriers 19 pivotally located on the ends of a beam 15 supported by longitudinally spaced supports 16. Adjustment of the floor cutters permits of control of the mining position of the plough with respect to a face being mined. Specification 1398129 is referred to.
