Abstract
1391935 Valves K L BOND 24 March 1972 [25 March 1971] 13999/72 Heading F2V A tap comprises a valve body 9 screwed into a standard tap body so that a tubular valve member 10 controls fluid flow through the original valve seat 4 by rotation of a hand wheel 14, and a valve 24 in a side arm of the body 9 controls flow to an outlet 30 by rotation of a second hand wheel. Fluid passes to the outlet 30 via a chamber 3, openings 28 and 22 and side passage 32. Alternatively the tubular body 10 may be fixed (Fig. 3, not shown), fluid flow being controlled by a valve member (50) co-operating with a seal (51) and having an outlet passage (53). The valve body (60) may be fabricated in one piece (Fig. 4, not shown), or the tubular member may be slidable having a non-return valve member co-operating with its end remote from the standard tap body.
