Abstract
1380763 Tetrahydro-benzoxazepines GRUPPO LEPETIT SpA 28 Feb 1972 [18 March 1971] 9027/72 Heading C2C Novel 1,3,4,5 - tetrahydro - 2,3 - benzoxazepines of the general formula wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a C 1-8 alkyl, hydroxy-C 1-8 alkyl, C 2-8 alkenyl, diarylcarbamoyl, di-C 2-8 alkenyl-carbamoyl, di-C 1-8 alkylcarbamoyl, di-C 1-8 alkylamino-C 1-8 alkyl-carbamoyl, (di - C 1-8 alkyl - amino) - C 1-8 alkoxycarbonyl or aliphatic (optionally heterocyclic ring- or dialkylamino-substituted), aromatic or heterocyclic acyl group, are prepared (a) when R is a hydrogen atom, by hydrolysis of 3-carboethoxy - 1,3,4,5 - tetrahydro - 2,3 - benzoxazepine (prepared by reaction of o-bromomethyl-phenethyl bromide with an alkali metal salt of N- hydroxy-urethane and (b) when R is other than a hydrogen foam, by introduction of the desired substituent R into the product of (a) by a known method. Pharmaceutical compositions having myorelaxant, sedative, hypnotic and antiinflammatory activity comprise, as active ingredient, a 1,3,4,5 - tetrahydro - 2,3 - benzoxazepine of the general formula above, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
