Abstract
1348244 Hoses DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd 21 May 1971 [21 May 1970] 24532/70 Heading F2P A hose comprises a carcass layer of polymeric material, a layer of flock applied to the polymeric material, a first layer of filamentary reinforcing material adjacent the layer of flock and an additional layer of filamentary reinforcing material arranged over and spaced from the first reinforcing layer. In the embodiment described the polymeric material is a natural or synthetic rubber, and a nylon flock is applied to an adhesive-coated surface of the carcass layer by mechanical or electrostatic means. The reinforcing layer comprises helically wound wires. One or more further helically wound layers may be applied, each such layer being separated from the preceding reinforcing layer by a layer of polymeric material and preferably a layer of flock, the wires of the respective layers being wound in opposite senses. The winding machine may be of the kind described in Specification 1,347,246.
