[Also in Division B5] In a composite driving belt comprising a plurality of superimposed layers, at least one layer 7 has a plurality of stretched bands 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d of thermoplastic material lying side by side and interwoven with strips or threads 11, at least one other layer 6 is formed by a fabric of thermoplastic material, and the layers are united under heat and pressure and/or by means of an adhesive. As shown in Fig. 3, layer 9 is also composed of stretched bands interwoven with strips 11 and layers 8, 10 are formed by fabrics of thermoplastic material. The five layers may comprise a polyamide or a polyurethane and the friction surface may have a coating of caoutchouc.
