Abstract

1346262 Presses P G VOSKUIL 3 March 1972 [3 March 1971] 9995/72 Heading B5F [Also in Division B8] A machine for charging a receptacle with compressible waste material has a hollow housing which is open-ended for releasable attachment to a receptacle by clamps 11, and in which a ram 12 is movable along guides by hydraulic piston and cylinder 13 to compress waste material into a receptacle. The material is introduced into the machine through opening 51, and may be sprayed from nozzles 63 with a disinfecting or other liquid before compression. The entrance to each receptacle is closed by a shutter 45 after each stroke of the ram. Motor 14 pumps fluid to cylinder 13 as controlled by switches 30-34, or by an automatic control system. The ram is automatically retracted when a maximum pressure device operates, or after a predetermined stroke.
