Abstract

1344330 Knitting-machines GUNZE Co Ltd 29 July 1971 [29 July 1970 (2)] 35787/71 Heading D1C An arrangement for sensing a broken yarn during stitch formation and for stopping the machine includes a contact 7 below the stitch cam 5 engaged by a falling needle devoid of yarn. The device is applicable to cylinder or dial needles and is provided at each feed. The cylinder and dial are rotated by a shaft 22 driven by pulleys 14, 20, 21 from a motor M and via an electromagnetic clutch 16-17. A needle striking the contact 7 disengages the clutch and simultaneously engages an electromagnetic brake 24-26. Warning lights at the feed and on the machine are illuminated.
