Abstract

1361111 Knitting-machines MASCHINENFABRIK SPAICHINGEN GmbH 22 March 1972 [10 April 1971] 13370/72 Heading D1C The knitting machine of Specification 1258850 is modified in that cross pieces 10 which define guide channels or needle bricks for the needle jacks 9 and each of which have at least one radially extending butt 11 which extends outwardly of the needle cylinder beyond the point reached by the butts 91' of the jacks 9 so that an armature 7 of the magnet is pushed against the holding surface of the magnet by the butt 11 against the action of the spring 16. When the armature is pushed out by butts 11 on cross pieces 10 then if the magnet is energised the jack 9' pushed out by cam 17 is held out by the armature 7 and is selected and lifted into action by the usual cams. If the magnet is not energised the spring 16 pushes the jack back when the advancing butt 11 has passed the edge of surface 74 of the armature. The cross piece which co-operates with a given jack leads the jack in the direction of needle rotation by a distance a.
