Abstract

1,236,590. Mine roof supports. GULLICK DOBSON Ltd. 8 Sept., 1969 [1 Oct., 1968], No. 46434/68. Heading E1P. A mine roof support comprises a U-shaped canopy 18 having a roof bar 19 disposed between the limbs 18a, 18b thereof as shown, the roof bar 19 constituting a cantilever extension pivoted at 20 to the canopy or being mounted on a prop carried by the base structure thereof. The support may have an advancing jack and in a modification the limbs 18a, 18b are extended so that the support props 15, 16 thereof are in line with the support prop 17 of the member 19, see Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
