Abstract

1431609 Mine roof supports VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE-ALPINE MONTAN AG 28 Dec 1973 [28 Dec 1972] 59971/73 Heading E1P In an advancing mine roof support for a longwall working comprising a shield 2 pivotally connected to a base plate 1 by pivotal links 3 and a pivotal jack 19, a rocking cap 6 is pivoted to the front of the shield and a hinged cap 8 is also pivotally secured thereto, the pivotal axes of said caps being disposed adjacent one another. The cap 8 is supported by a prop 29 as shown which may be replaced by a jack pivotally secured to the shield, see Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown). In a further modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the cap 6 is supported from the base by two props and has a modified mounting.
