Abstract
1,235,983. Operating mechanism for a folding door. E. FEHR. 15 July, 1969 [18 July, 1968], No. 35530/69. Heading E2M. An operating mechanism for an upwardly and outwardly folding door comprises an operating bar 10', 18 pivoted to the door frame at 9' and connected by means of a link 11' to a bar 8' which is pivoted at 15' to the lower door plate at 7' to the door frame, and at 21 to one end of a C-shaped bracket 20 having attached to its other end a spring 19 secured to the door frame at 23. The door comprises upper and lower plates 1', (2') hinged together at 4' and to the door frame at 3', the plates being at an obtuse angle when the door is closed and an acute angle when it is open. In a modification, the spring 19, bracket 20 and portion 18 of lever 10' may be dispensed with, and a bar connecting the inner end of bar 10' and the upper door plate inserted.
