Abstract
1,052,733. Hinges. J. H. BIERLICH. March 25, 1965 [March 25, 1964], No. 12737/65. Heading E2F. In a hinge for doors or windows, plates 12, 14 (Fig. 3, not shown) are fixed to the frame 10 and sash 11 respectively and are connected together by a pair of levers 15, 16 each pivotally attached at one end to fixed points 18, 19 on the plates 12, 14, pivotally joined together at 17, and connected at their other ends to pins 20, 23 which are slidable in slots 22, 25 in the plates 12, 14. Friction discs, springs and adjusting nuts may be arranged on the pins 20, 23 to keep the sash in any adjusted position. The hinge allows the sash 11 to move outwards from the frame 10 and turn through 180 deg. to the position shown in the Figure. The plate 12 may be attached to the frame 10 by a further plate 13 with retaining flanges 13' so that the sash can be lifted away from the frame when it has been opened a sufficient amount.
