Abstract

1,228,724. Animal pens. J. S. SMITH. 27 Oct., 1969 [25 Oct., 1968], No. 50659/68. Heading A1M. An animal feeding pen with at least one bay in the form of a walled enclosure, comprises at least two supports 5 and a frame 8 mounted on each support, the frame being formed by parallel horizontal links 11 to form part of the walls of the bay such that the frames can be collapsed to facilitate cleaning and for storage. The frames 8 are collapsed by means of the control arm 17 which is provided with a counterbalancing weight 24 and pivots about the pivot connection 19 to move the frames about pivots 12 and 13. The frame may be moved by an electric or hydraulic motor or by means of a screw thread.
