Abstract

1304566 Feeding webs PHILLIPS & SONS (MANCHESTER) Ltd 2 Sept 1971 [3 Sept 1970) 42123/70 Heading B8R [Also in Division D1] A cloth laying machine comprises a horizontal table, a carriage including a platform A and an interconnected pair of brackets D pivotably mounted upon shaft C and supporting a roll of cloth B carried by a shaft b. The brackets are swung into a horizontal position (Fig. 2, not shown) to facilitate loading of the roll. The roll is moved towards the brackets until its shaft b is caught in a recess between arms d, d<SP>1</SP>. In the operative position shown bearings d<SP>3</SP> support sleeves b<SP>1</SP> adjustably secured to shaft b by grub screws.
