Abstract
1,207,268. Reservoir pens. MONTBLANCSIMPLO G.m.b.H. 28 Aug., 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 41069/68. Heading B6P. A protective cap 2 for the point of a reservoir pen is formed of material of relatively low heat conductivity e.g. synthetic plastic, with an internal layer e.g. of metal of relatively high heat conductivity, this layer serving to prevent differences of temperature at parts of the inner surface of the cap which might cause water condensation. The layer extends over the whole of the axial length of that part of the cap which encloses the writing point of the pen. As shown, an inner flexible cap 6, adapted to make sealing contact with the front end 1 of the pen body, is located on a plug 5 secured by a screw 3 to the end of the cap 2. A spring 7 interposed between the parts 2, 6 assists the formation of a tight seal. The layer of metal 8 is situated in a recess in the outer surface of the cap part 6 and may comprise a helically-wound ribbon of aluminium. If there is no inner cap 6, the metal layer, which should be corrosion resistant, is applied to the inner surface of the cap 2 and may be either a metallic coating or an inserted metal liner.
