Abstract

1290960 Washing apparatus STEINER CO LAUSANNE SA 17 Nov 1970 [25 Nov 1969] 54685/70 Heading D1A Flat laundry work is carried between two conveyor belts 697, 698 in a sinuous path round rollers 655 supported by shafts 625 mounted in bearings 647 on the outsides of side walls 541 which are moved orbitally relative to a liquid holding tank 531, laundry being moved cycloidally by a combination of the rotational and orbital motions of the rollers. The side walls are mounted on bearings on eccentric portions of rotatable shafts 570 and 570a, seals being provided in the movable side walls to maintain the bearings free of wash liquid. The rollers comprise a plurality of spoke-supported rims engaged by the openmesh foraminous belts.
