[Also in Division F2] Cloth a after being washed, saturated by a fluid e.g. scouring and bleaching fluid in a tank b, mangled at c and steamed is piled by a pair of oscillating rollers 12 on to one of a number of pairs of supports 6 carried by and between endless chains 3; the chains are intermittently moved, by rotation of their supporting sprockets 2, through a distance equal to the separation of adjacent pairs of supports so that the vertical series of piles of cloth is indexed downwardly and at each shift the lowermost pile is dropped into treatment fluid or water before being led away about a roller 14. The supports 6 are hinged on the chains 3 so that in the upward run of the chairs they fold into a vertical position. The chairs also carry side wall portions 7 so that the piled cloth does not contact stationary members.
