Abstract
1289021 Alloys TOYOTA CHUO KENKYUSHO K K 3 Aug 1970 [2 Aug 1969 8 May 1970] 37434/70 Heading C7A An Ni-Al-Be alloy has a composition within the polygonal area BCIJK shown on the Figure, in which the proportions are expressed as atom per cent and B represents Ni 87, Al 11, Be 2 C represents Ni 48, Al 50, Ba 2 I represents Ni 48, Al 0À1, Be 51À9 J represents Ni 50À1, Al 0À1, Be 49À8 K represents Ni 61, Al 11, Be 28 Not more than 50 atom per cent of the Ni may be replaced by Fe and or Co. Impurities such as Si, Cu may be present in amounts such as 0À2-0À4 weight per cent. In order to minimize oxidation of Be the alloys may be melted in a vessel using electromagnetic levitation. Among the uses referred to are atomic heat engine parts, parts of jet propulsion motors, gas turbine blades, high temperature valves.
