Abstract
1397066 Nickel alloys ROLLS-ROYCE (1971) Ltd 15 June 1972 [19 June 1971 6 July 1971] 28893/71 and 31517/71 Heading C7A A high temperature alloy has the following composition in per cent by weight Cr 3 - 15 Al 5 -30 Co 1 - 20 W 3 - 15 Ta 1À5 - 12 Yt 0.001-0À5 Ni the remainder In a modification the alloy contains 5-7% of Al, 3À5-13À5% W and also contains C À02-À2%, B 0À005-0À1% and one or more of Mo, Nb, Zr, Ti each up to 5%. For high temperature uses the alloy may have a diffused Al coating e.g. À001 to À005 in. thick. Alternatively a nickel-base alloy may be provided with a coating of an alloy within the above range and have Al diffused thereinto. The Al diffusion step can be omitted if the alloy coating itself is enriched in Al. Such an alloy may have the composition Ta 1À5-12, Yt À001-À5, Al 10-30, Cr 3-15, Ni remainder.
