Abstract

1284842 Stud and socket fastenings RUBERY OWEN & Co Ltd 19 April 1971 [30 Jan 1970 14 March 1970] 4514/70 and 12388/ 70 Heading E2B [Also in Division B8] A retractable twistlock coupling for securing containers to vehicles has a collar 9, Fig. 2, which holds the spindle 7 in the raised position shown in Fig. 4 when the spindle and collar are raised and rotated through 90‹. Shoulders 16 on the collar engage the walls 3 of a housing when the ends of the collar pass into slots 15 therein, so that the spindle may be rotated independently of the collar the two are coupled by spring-loaded balls 11 which engage either bores 22 or 14 in the collar. The coupling is rotated by a handle 21.
