Abstract

1,259,182. Pivotal mine roof support arches. LORENZ-POLYGON-AUSBAU G.m.b.H. 24 March, 1969 [28 March, 1968; 24 May, 1968; 11 Feb., 1969], No. 15378/69. Heading E1E. A mine roof support member 1 is connected to a stilt, see Figs. 2, 5 and 6 (not shown), by a three-piece shackle interconnected by a bolt 12. The central part of the shackle is provided with an elongated aperture 13 to receive the bolt with play and opposed apertured flanges 7 for attachment to the stilt which is additionally located in position by a central flange 7. Each of the outer parts of the shackle is provided with a clamping jaw 10 and a bearing bush surface 9. In a modification, see Fig. 4 (not shown), the outer parts of the shackle are each provided with a socket to receive a bearing part of the central part.
