Abstract

In an advancing mine roof support having a pivotal cantilever extension 9, see also Fig. 5 (not shown) for a slightly modified arrangement, the member 9 consists of two I-section arms interconnected by a canopy 24 loosely connected thereto to permit different degrees of displacement of the arms under working conditions, see Fig. 6 (not shown). The members 9, 24 are interconnected by loosely fitting bolts or rivets 28, 29 passing through aligned apertures in the members and being retained therein by means such as a split pin, see Fig. 4 (not shown).
