1,245,940. Developing electrostatic images. BELL & HOWELL CO. Dec. 31, 1968, No.61827/68. Heading G2H. In an electrostatic copying machine Fig. 1 (not shown) copy sheets are fed from an exposure station 54 between rollers 56 to a developer application roller electrode 101 with a serrated surface 100. Developer liquid is supplied to roller 101 from a tank 133 by means of a pump which discharges to a weir 141 over which the liquid flows to contact the surface 100. Purging means, for example a roller (514), Fig. 11 (not shown) having a complementary serration and rotating in contact with roller 101 to remove spent developer therefrom, may be provided. Superfluous developer is removed from the copy sheet by a drying roller 104 provided with a doctor blade 109.
