Abstract

1,139,008. Scaffolding. ERNST SCHEER A.G. 6 Dec., 1966 [7 Dec., 1965], No. 5455/66. Heading E1S [Also in Division A4] A scaffolding structure includes hollow columns 1 supporting horizontal girders 2 to the ends of which are secured L-section members 9 having inwardly pressed projections 11 which hook over noses 12 extending into openings 7 formed in the corners 5, 6 of the columns 1. The projections 11 include inclined faces having a wedging engagement with upwardly converging surfaces 8a, 8b of the noses 12. Front and rear columns 1 are braced by tubes 4 with flattened ends engaged in a longitudinal slot 3 in each column 1 and secured by welding. In a modification the end members 9 are of channel section and have projections 11 in both corners to engage noses 12 in two corners of a column 1.
