Abstract

1,139,051. Tungsten based alloy articles. POWDER ALLOYS CORP. April 13, 1966, No.16262/66. Heading C7A. A machined body at least one eighth of an inch thick is made of an alloy comprising: - W 80-99À9% optionally Co up to 1% the balance being Fe and Ni with the ratio Fe/Ni being from 17/23 to 7/3. Tungsten may be partially replaced by up to 10% Mo and the Fe content preferably does not exceed the Ni content by more than 35% by weight thereof. In examples the bodies are made by pressing and sintering in hydrogen prior to machining.
