1,082,628. Cleaning carding engines. D. HOWORTH & SON Ltd. June 7, 1966 [June 9, 1965], No. 24321/65. Addition to 919,694. Heading D1F. A carding engine as claimed in Specification 919,694 is provided with a scraper d carried on driven endless belts b<2> to periodically remove lust and the like which has been liberated and fallen beneath the machine. This dust is sucked away through a suction slot d<1>. A hinged plate D<2> is provided below the takerin A<1> to guide the heavier waste infront of slot d<1>. The shaft b carrying the pulleys which carry and drive the belts b<2> may be driven, as shown, from the doffer, from another part of the card or by an electric motor.
