Abstract
1,128,365. Haymaking machines. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 6 Dec., 1965 [23 Dec., 1964], No. 33447/67. Divided out of 1,128,363. Heading A1F. In a rimless rake-wheel, for a haymaking machine, the tines are formed in pairs from spring-steel and the bent inner ends 28 are clamped between plates 24 bolted to the hub 2, each tine 30 comprising a radially-extending part 35 having a tip 36 bent backwardly relative to the direction of rotation the radial part being connected by a tangential portion 34 to a spoke-portion 29 extending radially but at a different angle from the part 35, the spoke-portion consisting of an elongated loop 33 lying in a plane which includes the rake-wheel axis. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown) an additional bend is inserted between the radial part 35 and the loop so that the radial part is co-planar, not with the hub 2, but with the outermost limb of the loop 33.
