Abstract

1,114,280. Haymaking machines. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 28 June, 1965 [13 July, 1964], No. 15600/67. Divided out of 1,114,279. Heading A1F. In a tined rake-wheel each tine is made of spring-steel and is provided with an element 15 of organic elastomer which is fixed to the rake-wheel rim 16, the tine proper 6 projecting from one side of the element and a spoke 8 of the rake-wheel projecting from the other side. In Fig. 1 the elements comprise rubber blocks bonded to the spokes and having projections 17 which are entered through holes in the rim. The rim 16 is of channel-section and the blocks 15 abut to form a continuous rubber ring. The spokes 8 are bent over at their inner ends 9 and are clamped by sector-shaped plates 10 which are bolted to a disc 4 carried by the hub 1. In modifications, the elements comprise grommetlike members of various shapes bonded to the tines where they pass through the rim and are held on the rim by cups or clamps of complementary shape.
