A ladder rung has a circumferential rib 5 or 7 or both engaging ridges 2 on the stiles 1 to prevent rotation of the rung. The end of the rung. is engaged in a hole in a stile until the rib 5 engages the stile and the end 6 of the rung is then turned over to form the securing rib 7.
