Abstract

856,845. Ladders. MATTHEWS, C. H. May 7, 1959 [May 7, 1958], No. 14547/58. Class 20(2) [Also in .Group XXII] Ribbed ladder rungs are secured in the stile 5 by reducing the ribs to form a shoulder 9 which abuts the inner face of the stile, the end of the rung fitting in a complementarily shaped hole punched in the outer wall of the stile and finally being spun over. The stiles may be C-shaped in which case the shoulder 9 abuts the inner face of the stile which has a complementarily shaped hole for the end of the rung which is spun over against the outer face of the stile.
