[Also in Division F2] A facing sheet 1, e.g. of plaster-board with hard-board facing sheets, which may line a ceiling or wall, or form one face of a partition, is attached to a sheet metal framing member or stud 4 by staples 11 which are driven into parallel rows of perforations formed between ridges 5 along the web of the framing member. Each stud may comprise a single box-section member with opposed perforated surfaces, (Fig. 8, not shown), or a single channel 22, (Fig. 6, not shown), with perforated flanges, or it may be formed from opposed channel-section members 25, (Fig. 7. not shown), each with a perforated web, and interconnected by spacing pieces 26. The framing members may be channel-sectioned (as shown, or as in Fig. 5, not shown), or triangular-sectioned, T-sectioned. or H-sectioned, (Figs. 9-11, not shown). The perforations are formed by teeth punched out in a direction away from the facing sheets, and leaving ridges which are convexly curved towards the facing sheets.
