Abstract

1,111,724. Suspended ceilings. ETERNIT. 28 Jan., 1966 [15 Feb., 1965], No. 4040/66. Heading E1W. In a suspended ceiling grid, a pair of plane connecting elements 1 tightly engage grooves 16, 18 in the flange and head of adjacent inverted T-section, transverse bars 10, being thereby held against oppositely directed faces of the webs 11 of the transverse bars the elements 1 each having a stop lug 5 by means of which they are located in relation to the ends of the bars and a finger 6 which engages one of a spaced pair of vertical holes 21, 21'. in the web of a longitudinal bar 9 of the grid, the fingers 6 each having a notch which receives the bottom edge of the hole 21 or 21', the webs of adjacent transverse bars and the flanges of the transverse and longitudinal bars respectively, being located in coplanar arrangement. The grooves 16, 18 may be provided on one or both sides of the transverse bars.
