Abstract

1471524 Partitions BPB INDUSTRIES Ltd 29 April 1974 [28 April 1973] 20303/73 Heading E1W Panels 5 of a partition are demountably secured to studs by means of clips 28 secured to the back face of the panel and hooking into slots 2 in the studs. The clips are resilient and of e.g. metal or plastics secured to a reinforcing strip 24 on the panel. The clips are formed so as to clamp the stud and panel together in a camming action and to urge the stud and panel apart when the panels are displaced in the opposite direction. The clips may have sharp ends to penetrate wood or chipboard panels or may have slots in their ends to engage the edges of a struck out aperture in a strip 24 fixed to a plasterboard panel. The studs may be of I, H, J, Z or C- cross section or may be of hollow rectangular cross section. They may be formed of aluminium, steel or rigid plastics. The reinforcing strip 24 may be adhered to the panel along its vertical regions and on its vertical centre line. The studs may be clamped against the ceiling by a floor engaging wedge (22) Fig. 2 (not shown).
