[Also in Division C4] A synthetic rubber or nylon floor mat is cast or moulded with a tread 2, and intersecting ribs 3, 4, which form a cushioning layer and adhere to the floor by vacuum-cup action, a non-slip layer 7 consisting of particles of an abrasive material, such as silicon carbide, being adhered to the upper surface of the tread. The mat has a peripheral bevelled edge, or a side-edge is formed with spaced extensions which interlock with complementary extensions on an adjacent mat.
