Abstract

965,957. Mats. D. ATKIN. May 8, 1963 [June 4, 1962], No. 21550/62. Heading A4S. [Also in Division B5] A moulded mat has one principal surface composed of two differently coloured mouldable materials which are self bonding under pressure, and if necessary heat, the materials being bonded together without mechanical reinforcement over an area parallel to said surface, and a cavity being formed opposite the bonded area in the other principal surface. The mat may be formed of rubber or plastics material such as P.V.C. or polyester resins. The upper side of the mat may be provided with projections 4. More than one cavity may be provided in the under surface of the mat, e.g. the under surface may be formed with supporting inter-connected pillars or walls 8. Alternatively a honeycomb network of cellular recesses may be provided.
