Abstract
1,151,235. Rotary pipe joints. SANTON Ltd. 1 June, 1967 [2 June, 1966], No. 24614/66. Heading F2G. A rotary joint comprises a resilient 0-ring 7 located in a counterbore of an adaptor 1 and a rotatable extension 8 mounted in the adaptor bore and having mounted thereon a collet 9 with a shoulder 10 which is engaged by a screwthreaded compression nut 5 to urge the collet towards the adaptor to compress the 0-ring. The joint is used between the fixed and rotatable parts of an electric water heater. The collet 9 may have slits to enable it to grip the end of a swan-neck extension.
