858,607. Pipe couplings. ALEXANDER, G. H. May 14, 1958 [May 28, 1957], No. 15536/58. Class 99(1). [Also in Group XXV] A connector for flexible tubing has a threaded body portion 1, a spigot portion 8 and a nut 3 wherein a groove 13 is flanked by threaded portions 11, 12, the screw threads of which have the same basic dimensions. When the nut 3 is screwed over a tube 2, e.g. of polythene, a ridge 7 forces the tubing into the groove 13 where the thread, previously cut in its resilient surface by the thread 11, relaxes thus allowing the same thread 11 to prevent accidental unscrewing.
