Abstract

860,474. Brushes; squeegees; handle fixings. CLARES (WELLS) Ltd., and YATES, D. Nov. 20, 1959 [Aug. 25, 1958], No. 27208/58. Classes 19, and 61. In a two part clamp for attaching a broom head to its handle, one part comprises a bowed body 14 fitting the head, provided with a tube 20 formed with apertures 21 for water, a nose 22 for the reception of a hose 23 and a split socket 15 for the reception of the handle, the second part 27 having a flange for engagement with the head. The parts are detachably secured together around the head of the broom by a tightening screw 25 and nut 26. The part 14 has an inwardly turned flange similar to the flange on the part 27. The split socket 15 has ears through which pass a tightening screw 18 for a flynut, 19. Integral with the tube 20 is a scraper 24.
