Abstract
1,022,925. Flush door &c. panels. CECO STEEL PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Jan. 8, 1963 [Jan. 25, 1962], No. 886/63. Heading E1J. A flush door &c. panel comprises a sheet metal plate 10 of channel section, the sides 15, 16, having inturned flanges 17, 18, a plate 11, with inturned flanges 19, 21 being secured to the plate 10 by providing punched out tabs 35 secured at both ends on the flanges 19, 21 which co-operate with keyhole type slots in the flanges 17, 18, such that when longitudinal relative movement is given to the two plates, the tabs 35 move over the narrower part of the keyhole slots and due to their slope as indicated in Fig. 8, (not shown) provide a wedging action to draw the two plates 10, 11, together. The interior is filled with a light weight core such as honey-comb paper which is secured to the interior surfaces of the plates 10, 11 by adhesive, the thickness of the core being such that it is compressed when the plates are fitted together. The ends of the door are then closed by plates and all the plates may be secured together by spot welding.
