Abstract

1,089,040. Anchor and stowage. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Aug. 8, 1966 [Aug. 19, 1965], No. 35702/65. Heading B7S. An anchor and stowage comprises, an anchor (Fig. 1) and guide means fitted to the anchor cable immediately above the main shackle of the anchor, said means comprising a guide member m having a shaped pin n which, when the anchor approaches the stowage engages on one or the other of two cam-shaped surfaces which guide the pin into one or the other of a pair of channels in the hawse pipe thus ensuring alignment of the anchor with the stowage to facilitate entry of the anchor therein.
