Abstract

1,078,003. Ignition systems. ROBERT BOSCH G. m. b. H. Aug. 7, 1964 [Aug. 10, 1963], No.32198/64. Heading F1B. An ignition system for an internal combustion engine comprises a transistor 31 with its output path in the primary circuit 12 of the ignition coil, a contact breaker 22 in parallel with the basecollector path of the transistor, for controlling the transistor from its conductive state to its blocked state and a base circuit in parallel with the emitter base path of the transistor, the base circuit comprising an inductance 39 and in series with this inductance a rectifier 40 conductive to current in the same sense as the emitter base path. Preferably a capacitor 42 is provided in parallel with the inductance. It is recommended to arrange a resistor 41 in series with the inductance and rectifier.
